Wi-Fi Modules:

Espressif

Headquartered in Zhangjiang Hitech Park, Espressif Systems (Shanghai) Pte. Ltd. is a fabless semiconductor company providing cutting-edge low power Wi-Fi SoCs and wireless solutions for communications and IoT applications..

Models:

1.ESP-WROOM-02:

ESP-WROOM-02 is a 32-bit low power micro-controller (MCU) Wi-Fi Module that integrates TCP/IP network stacks, and includes 10-bit ADC with HSPI, SDIO, UART, PWM, I2C, and I2S interfaces. The module is highly integrated. It consumes extremely low power while providing wireless internet connection for embedded devices. It can be easily integrated into resource-limited devices due to its small form factor of only 18mm x 20mm.

In addition to the ESP8266EX chipset, the module also integrates an SPI flash with 16Mbyte capacity, along with a SOP8-150mil package. The SPI flash is incredibly useful for storing user programs and firmware.

2.The ESP8266:

The ESP8266 is a highly integrated chip designed for the needs of an increasingly connected world. It offers a complete and self-contained Wi-Fi networking solution, allowing it to either host applications or offload all Wi-Fi networking functions from another application processor.

The ESP8266 has powerful on-board processing and storage capabilities that allow it to be used with sensors and other application specific devices through its GPIOs with minimal development up-front and minimal loading during runtime. Its high degree of on-chip integration allows for minimal external circuitry. The entire solution, including the module, is designed to occupy minimal PCB area.
